![]() Seems like many Index owners are extremely angry with Oculus and refuse to use Revive and give any $$ to Oculus. I even made a post about the game on Valve Index Reddit, but no one cares. The Quest versions get like 5 to 10 times more ratings. Not sure many people think like me when it comes to graphics, which really makes me wonder why these new games aren't getting more ratings for the Rift versions. Or have people stopped buying Rift games? I do get that Lies Beneath and Down the Rabbit Hole are pure Quest ports with phone VR graphics, and I personally do not buy such games, but that can't explain the few ratings for Mini Motor Racing X unless people think they get a 100% Quest port. Today - one month after launch - the Rift version has very high ratings but only 17 ratings! See here: ĭown the Rabbit Hole was another recent Rift game (also on Steam) that had massive exposure on Reddit and has really high ratings, and now 1½ month post-launch the Rift version has a mere 24 ratings: I did see a similar trend for Lies Beneath - that game had a lot of exposure on Reddit, and it's a game sponsored directly by Oculus. Marketplace is a convenient destination on Facebook to discover. Hmmm, nearly 48 hours gone and only 10 ratings for Mini Motor Racing X, which makes me slightly worried - because this easily could translate into very few sales and unhappy devs. Also this game isn't your average semi-mediocre indie game or app, but a highly polished VR game, which kinda does look AA(A)-ish. New and used Lexus Rx for sale in Pensacola, Florida on Facebook. The game is $25 and easily worth the price - this is a great game for both kids and adults. I've rated the game 5/5 stars in the Oculus Store, because in VR and within the game's genre, I don't think I've seen anything better. Due to the amount of very tiny details, this is the first game where I started to envy Reverb owners, lol. ![]() When I started the game, res was automatically set to 1.4x (ss 1.4), and res 200% was only possible on my rig after setting the in-game res to 1.0 (but I could still use 4xMSAA and max out all other settings). I especially like the attention to details - there're seagulls flying in the sky, tons of fish in the sea and the world simply feels alive. Textures look great when zoomed out, but not so great inside the car - like Super Sprint, I think this game is meant to be played using the zoomed out (=top down) perspective. The PCVR version is 4.25 GB, while the Quest version is 1.7 GB, so clearly the PCVR version is (greatly) enhanced. The game does not look like a Quest port, but looks like a genuine PCVR game - or maybe like a game that Sega could have made for some brand-new arcade machine. The result is a very gratifying racing experience that will keep players coming back for lap after lap.The game is great fun - and graphics are surprisingly good. Mini Motor Racing takes a proven genre and improves upon it by providing its own additional artistic touch. At first the looseness of the controls can take a bit of getting used to, but over time it will become as second nature as breathing. The more successful a player becomes, the more they can tweak their vehicle to maintain the proper balance of steering and speed. Again, this is a side effect of the legacy that other games in this genre have already established. ![]() Helping to aid that progression are upgrades to the vehicle that are unlocked throughout the progression of the rather massive campaign.Įach car's controls vary slightly in terms of responsiveness. Successfully navigating the track comes down to being able to work within the constraints of the environment in order to drift, slide and boost to the front of the pack. The core game mechanics are less about a battle between the different cars on the track as they are about combat between players and the game's physics engine. It's easy to marvel at how everything seems so fantastical that it almost jumps off the screen while still seeming grounded enough in reality to be believable. The art style featured in Mini Motor Racing looks almost as if a Pixar cartoon has come to life on iOS. Does it race a perfect lap, or get stuck spinning its wheels?įrom the moment that the light turns green one thing will stand out above everything else: amazing visuals. Mini Motor Racing is looking to cash in on that trend, while delivering solid gameplay to boot. After a brief lull due to lack of interest, the growth of mobile gaming has led to a resurgence in the genre. Top down arcade racers have been a staple of gaming for the last twenty years. ![]()
